Henna Dark Brown
Reviewed by Hyacinth, Wed Apr 16 2008
I used this for the first time and nothing happened. The only change was that my grays got whiter. There was not even a tint of color to my black hair. I followed the intructions on the package. Was very disappointed. |

Inconsistent Formula Mixing by Manufacturer!
Reviewed by Another Good Product Down the Tubes!, Sun Sep 16 2007
I was a big fan of Hennalucent back in the 80's and 90's but then noticed inconsistent packaging of the powders - different color, texture and definately different results each time. Always used the Neutral or Blush Blond.
Too many inconsistent results for me to try using again... last time I used Neutral it turned my hair green but should have known something was up just by the way the powder looked... again, different from package bought few months earlier. If you had not used the product before, you would not know there was something amiss.
They have a quality control issue and until they address this problem I would not use this product. It appears to be random (you never know what color is affected - neutral, brown, reds... and probably connected to batches produced at the manufacturing plant... too risky for me! |

Minus stars for Hennalucent!
Reviewed by Red-Cat, Fri Aug 31 2007
I've been using henna on my hair for 30 YEARS, and for most of that time I've used Hennalucent. I wouldn't have used one product for so long unless I was getting good results! I used to use only Sunset Glow, but as my hair got more and more grey, Sunset Glow left the resulting color more orange than red, so I started adding Earth Brown/Bark Brown to darken and tone down the orangeness, and I still got good results (more of an auburn than bright red). Many, MANY compliments on my hair color and shininess! Recently, however, I've come to dread the once-a-month henna application, because I never know what to expect. I'm still using the same "formula" of Bark Brown/Earth Brown/Sunset Glow in a 2/4/1 ratio, but sometimes I get a very dark brown, sometimes I get the red/brown I'm looking for, but as often as not I get GREEN. Whimper. I have no idea what Hennalucent changed in their formulations, but I wish they would change it back! |

Hennalucent Browns, Nuetral, Burgundy, Sunset Glo
Reviewed by Terry, Fri May 4 2007
I've Been using this product for 20+ yrs.
No problems so far. Have always loved how natural it looks. Hope the problems get works out and questions get answered because I love the stuff. Don't want it to go away any time soon. I've used the browns and nuetral with a touch of Sunset or Burgundy to warm it up. Always, the results is great! |

The color of the powder has changed
Reviewed by connie, Wed Mar 7 2007
I've used the Hennalucent bark brown for the last 6 months-it's been great-nice golden tones. Something must have changed because the bark brown is not brown but red. When I mix the powder with water, there is a big difference in the color of the mixture. It is no longer greenish, but a yellow/red. I used it on my hair and now my hair is red. I am really disappointed in the product. I even went and bought 3 more boxes just to see if it was a mistake, but no, all the boxes said 'bark brown', but contained the lighter powder. I emailed American International Industries & asked if the manufacturer changed colors. No reply, yet. Very disappointing. I'll need to find another natural product that covers gray |
