The absolute best henna out there!
Reviewed by Alethea, Fri Dec 9 2005
I've been using Hennalucent since the 80s. I especially LOVED The deep red tones that were there in the sunlight because I let my hair absorb it until it looked deep brown. I used Earth brown MOST of the time or did a sunset glo combo. I have had relaxed hair for years, applied henna immediately afterwards. Wonderful. When I wanted more of the red to be seen, I would just do a quick rinse with lemon juice --fresh squeezed-- Never had stronger or fuller hair with any other product. Immediately noticeable. I especially liked that it never interferred with the relaxing process. In fact, I used neutral (I loved the white/cream colored powder that became kind of honey colored and just added body and LIFE to my hair even when I did other things to it.) |

As my hair added some silver strands, I switched to bark brown because the earthbrown turned the silvers to an orangeish color--which was diminished by the lemon rinse. The bark brown, however, turns the silver to the most beautiful gold. I have never been more happy to make that discovery. People continually comment on it..."It looks like it grew out of your head", they say. Well, it does.
I prefer the formula I have used so long. The greenish color of my neutral terrifies me! I did try it though, and my gold tones didn't turn green! :)
I don't know how people get the green hair and I hate that for them. For me, it's been a very wonderful journey.
I used the very last of my original bark brown this week and am now about to try the new version. Ardell, don't fail me now!! If there is any way to get the earlier product, PLEASE let me know. If I had realized you were changing the product, I would have bought every box I saw. I am very accustomed to what I have always gotten from this product, and would be MOST disappointed if I could no longer depend upon its consistent performance. THANKS! |

List of INGREDIENTS! Sunset glo Blush Blonde Mix
Reviewed by Jennifer, Thu Nov 17 2005
First, here's a list of ingredients from my Hennalucent insert:
Lawsonia Inermis (Henna), Acacia Bark, Chamomile, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein... No chemicals or animal fats!
May Also contain: (to make the various color differences) Cassia Auriculata Leaves, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Shell Powder, Indigofera Tinctoria Leaf,(Indigo leaf), Coffea Arabica, Curcuma Longa (tumeric) root Powder, Beta Vulgaris (Root Beet), Annatto, Carthamus Tinctorious (Safflower) flower Extract, Rubia Tinctorum Root (Madder), Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis
Helpful Hint: Use BOILING water in a glass dish! Sunset gloe will at least has a dark red brown tint (when hot enough water is used) instead of green. At least for me, when I've not mixed the Hennalucant with hot enpough water it stays green, but does not turn your hair green... It doesn't work at all unless very hot water is used! Stirr in with a wisk and wait until it cools a bit before using. I leave it in for 40 minutes. Less time fro less color. ;-)
**I have used a mix of 1/2 Blush Blonde and 1/2 sunset glo for 5 years now. This stuff is great! Leaves my hair shiny and light red. my natural hair color is "dishwater" blonde. I tried those level 2 four week dyes for several years, just to add some life to my dull colored hair. Al it did was make my hair one uniform color, but with different shaded roots. My hair looked dyed, no matter what products I tried! One Clairol strawberry blonde color left my hair a very dark maroon just hours before I had to appear on stage for TV. Argh! Worse yet, it remained stuck in my hair for over three months and I had to have it professionally removed for my wedding. LOL! No more boxed chemicals and developers for me!
Thanks to a friend who recommended Hennalucent, I now have a strawberry blonde hair color that looks natural. It leaves the naturally light areas of my hair lighter and washes out gradually, starting to look a bit "faded" after about 5 weeks. My beautician for three years never knew my hair was colored until I told her a few months back. Now she uses Hennalucent too!
For every one complaining about the brown, please try contacting the company. That stuff sounds terrible! If no one complains to them, there will continue to be more green hair stories... |

Worked great
Reviewed by Amy, Thu Sep 22 2005
My natural color is medium to dark brown and long, but a couple years of coloring to cover grey and correct lightened hari had left it dry and brittle, not to mention the sun had begun fading my artificial color and leaving behind brassy hair where the chemical developers had "lifted" the existing color before depositing pigment. |
